About TED

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman. The annual TED Conference takes place each spring in Vancouver, British Columbia. TED's media initiatives include TED.com, where new TED Talks are posted daily; the Open Translation Project, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as translations from volunteers worldwide; the educational initiative TED-Ed. TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world get help translating their wishes into action; TEDx, which supports individuals or groups in hosting local, self- organized TED-style events around the world, and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities. About TEDxKIITUNIVERSITY

TEDxKIITUniversity Community: The faction of society that is trying to connect with the others, putting forth ideas worth being established, is the TEDx community and TEDxKIITUniversity is a piece of that cake. Organizing the first of upcoming many was a barefoot walk on glass pieces and shrapnels. The first footstep, despite all the hurdles, shone brilliantly with the immense response it received. Recollecting the motivation that we cherished last year, we delightfully tread forward towards an intellectual reformation. Our plan is to bring together creative minds that have a better plan for the species.
TEDxKIITUniversity Philosophy: In TEDxKIITUniversity, from the most innovative thinkers to the most inspiring speakers, every seemingly insignificant idea presented is a flicker to the flame – the flame that triggers the curiosity of an individual, an institution, a state or the world. At TEDxKIITUniversity, we believe that there is a potential to every being, that is left untouched. Students and professionals alike, we want to reach out to them, help them nurture their confidence so they may stand up, join hands and bring about a change with their capabilities; a change that affects a wider section of people than what was accustomed for. Ideas can not be made tangible but they can be substantiated. TEDxKIITUniversity believes in the  concept of the ‘substantiality of ideas’. We believe in the art of implementation by means of inspiration. The Youth needs to understand the power of their thoughts and the intensity of changes they can help bring about. An idea, however small and spontaneous it might seem, always has the potential to be the sole driving force in our lives. Inspiration and ideas when brewed together into a broth can act as that perfect catalyst needed to transpire just the right sort of events needed to achieve one’s goals. We are a community, the roots of which have sprouted from the realisation of the paramount importance that motivation as well as inspiration hold. Hence, we aspire to organise ourselves into a platform that strives to bring ideas out of closets and lend them a voice, loud and clear enough to motivate others in the process of their own implementation.
