Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology

(Deemed to be University)

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), one of India’s prestigious universities, is renowned for its research and teaching quality. In a rented home with 12 students and 2 teachers, it was founded as an industrial training institute in Bhubaneswar in 1992–1993. Prof. Achyuta Samanta envisioned a school that prioritises academic quality and provides innumerable opportunities for students to obtain in-depth information in an era of unpopular education and cautious acceptance of globalisation.

Respected everywhere for the calibre of its academic programmes, research opportunities, and involvement in the local community and its reputation as a school of compassion and humanitarianism, KIIT Deemed to be University has established itself as one of the Leading Education Centers in India thanks to the commitment, tenacity, and resilience of our Founder and the contribution of the hard-working team and well-wishers.

No other educational establishment in India has expanded in scope and scale as much in just 25 years as KIIT has, therefore it has become a paragon of growth. Incredibly, it has undergone a trip from soil to silver. The Limca Book of Records proudly lists KIIT as the first Institute to earn the distinction of achieving University status in less than 6 years. According to the Ministry of Education’s ARIAA, 2022, it is ranked first among all self-financing universities in the nation.

With a varied student body from 65 different countries and throughout India, KIIT offers more than 115 academic programmes through its 23 schools, and more than 195 foreign organisations engage with it daily. KIIT, in virtually every area of interest, has a long history of hosting countless international and national seminars, conferences, workshops, and even significant sporting events.

TED

TED which stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design, is a media organisation which hosts inspirational and empowering talks emphasising the slogan of “ideas worth spreading”. Richard Saul Wurman came up with the idea of a TED conference in February 1984 as a one-time event. Six years later, it was reinvented as a four-day conference in Monterey, California. By 2014, the TED conferences began a run in Vancouver, Canada, reflecting its growing international appeal.

TED’s early emphasis was on technology and design, consistent with its Silicon Valley origins, but it has since broadened its repertoire to include talks on many scientific, cultural, and academic topics. It is owned by Chris Anderson, a British American businessman, through the Sapling Foundation.

Over time, the organisation has successfully morphed itself into an international circle with an all-encompassing audience that welcomes the idea of harbouring change. The annual TED conference intends to acknowledge and propagate the effectiveness of simple ideas. By sharing the journeys of people who have carved their niche in the world, the conference aims at acknowledging the importance of soldiering through the hurdles in one’s path.
